Paxton Counseling
About My Approach
I provide counseling for teens, adults, and couples who are generally high-functioning but feel stuck emotionally, relationally, or spiritually. Many of the clients I work with appear successful on the outside, yet internally struggle with anxiety, relationship conflict, unresolved trauma, or repeating patterns that limit connection and growth.
I specialize in trauma-informed therapy, including EMDR and CBT, and use a relational and attachment-focused approach to help clients process past experiences, heal relational wounds, and create meaningful, lasting change. Therapy is tailored to each individual or couple, recognizing that different people benefit from different therapeutic modalities.
At the core of my work is a relational focus—helping individuals and couples improve communication, strengthen emotional connection, and gain clarity about their values and direction in life. I have extensive experience working with couples, high-functioning adults, and adolescents navigating stress, transitions, faith concerns, and identity questions.
For clients who desire it, I offer Christian counseling and am open to thoughtfully integrating faith, spirituality, and biblical values into the therapeutic process while maintaining a clinically sound, evidence-based approach. I also work respectfully with clients from diverse backgrounds who may not wish to include faith in therapy.
